Passive Design Solutions
Innovative Earth has recently affiliated with Passive Design Solutions as our designer for our builds. Passive Design Solutions is the first certified passive design firm in Canada with over 10 years of experience. The owner Natalie is the first Certified Passive House Consultant and Certified Passive House Builder in Canada. Their mission is to make sustainable, high-performance homes affordable for everyone. The team at Passive Design Solutions has a depth of knowledge of not only designing homes but also an experience in engineering and construction. We are excited for this affiliate partnership and what they have to offer us at Innovative Earth.
Red Deer Polytechnic
Innovative Earth Inc. has started collaborating with Red Deer Polytechnic to help develop and perfect our forming system. This partnership will create more efficient Rammed Earth construction in our future projects.
UBC Okanagan; Engineering Department
We have collaborated with UBC Okanagan and have entered into a university and small business partnership. UBC Okanagan has been diligently working with wood-based fly ash stabilizers to create a lower embodied carbon Rammed Earth product. This will create our Rammed Earth wall system more eco-friendly by using less cement as well as reducing the amount of waste from the landfill. This novel fly ash Rammed Earth mix will be incorporated with as many of our future Rammed Earth projects as possible.
Grande Prairie Innovation Network
Innovative Earth Inc. has received over $30,000 in funding for our inventions from GPRIN. This is huge for a small business like us and we are very appreciative of their contributions in growing our company. This partnership will contribute to the efficiency of Rammed Earth construction in our future projects and offering a competitive priced product to the general public.
Education for Youth
Evergreen Learning and Innovation Centre asked us to introduce rammed earth to local youth! We did so by including them in on the process of building birdhouses.
Completed birdhouses were donated to the schools to set up in their school yards.
Community Sports
We are proud sponsors, active executive members and players of our local rugby club.
Innovative Earth has donated a generous amount of materials, equipment operations and labor in the past 20 years for upgrade’s to the Grande Prairie Rugby club house.
Affordable Housing Project
We are excited to announce our very own project expected for development in 2022-2023. This will be a net-zero ready passive solar duplex located in Sexsmith, Alberta. This building will be the first passive rammed earth duplex of its kind in Western Canada! Our passion at Innovative Earth is to provide extremely efficient houses that result in a higher standard of living for an affordable cost.

University Lectures
Education is power! We educate Environmental Design students at the University of Calgary about Rammed Earth every year. These short lectures cover the history, construction process, benefits and any answers to questions.
